When a Wiring harness goes into a military aircraft, failure isn’t an option. Every connection, every crimp, every wire, and every test matters. At InterConnect Wiring, safety and durability aren’t just requirements on the drawing; they’re built into everything we manufacture.
Built for the Mission
Military aircraft operate in some of the most demanding environments imaginable: extreme temperatures, vibration, moisture, electrical loads, maintenance cycles, and years of service. That’s why safety and durability are critical for aerospace manufacturing-grade wiring harnesses. They cannot be built just like any ordinary wiring harness. They are held to much higher and more strict requirements and standards.
The Right Materials
Durability starts with the materials. Aerospace harnesses require some of the most rigorous procurement scrutiny in the manufacturing world. Carefully selected wire, contacts, connectors, shielding, protective materials, and termination components based on the specific application and customer requirements.
We follow the engineering requirements for each harness and verify that the materials and components are appropriate for the application before they ever become part of the finished assembly.
The goal here at InterConnect Wiring is simple: build it right the first time every time, using the right components, processes, and workmanship.
Precision Crimping & Termination
One of the most critical parts of any harness is the termination. A wire can look perfect on the outside and still have a problem if the termination isn’t manufactured correctly. That’s why our technicians follow controlled processes for stripping, crimping, terminating, connector assembly, and inspection.
Testing
Testing is where we verify that the finished harness performs exactly as intended. Depending on the requirements of the program and the specifications from the customer, testing can include continuity, insulation resistance, dielectric withstand, and other required electrical or functional tests.
The most important thing is we’re not just simply building a harness and shipping it out that door. We’re building it, inspecting it, testing it, and making sure we document all of the results before it leaves our facility.
Environmental & Mechanical Durability
Military harnesses also have to survive the environment they’re installed in. Proper routing, strain relief, shielding, protection, and workmanship all contribute to the long-term durability of the assembly.
Every detail matters because the harness has to perform not just day one, but throughout the life of the platform.
Quality is Everyone’s Responsibility
At InterConnect Wiring, quality isn’t the responsibility of just one department. Engineering, manufacturing, quality, and our technicians all play a role in making sure the product meets the requirements. It’s a team effort. Because when you’re supporting military aviation, the standard isn’t simply “good enough”. The standard is meeting the specifications and requirements set forth by the industry and our customers, and doing it with consistent quality.
From the materials we select, to all of the internal manufacturing processes here at InterConnect Wiring, safety and durability are at the highest priority.
