With Fall weather rapidly approaching and football season in full swing, there’s a lot of things for people to be excited about. The Fort Worth Alliance Air Show is coming soon. This time of the year is a favorite of mine. You have high school football games on Friday nights, college games on Saturdays, NFL games on Sundays, and one of my favorite events, the Fort Worth Alliance Air Show. In fact, it is this weekend, October 25th and 26th!
The Fort Worth Alliance Air Show has many featured performers and the one that stands out to me the most is the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds are one of the oldest squadrons in the Air Force dating back to the 30th Aero Squadron formed at Kelly Field in Texas on June 17th 1917. The Thunderbirds currently fly Block 52 F-16 C/D jets. Did you know that there are over 300 wiring harnesses in a single-seat F-16 and over 375 electrical harnesses in the 2-seat F-16? That’s a lot of electrical wiring harnesses! I truly enjoy watching the Thunderbirds perform.
It also makes me feel proud that I work for InterConnect Wiring. InterConnect Wiring is a company that specializes in F-16 electrical wiring harnesses and power distribution panels for the United States Air Force and other foreign countries that fly the F-16. It never fails to amaze me when people drive by our manufacturing facility and wonder what we do. I recently had a person visit and tour our facility. He was blown away with all the F-16 harnesses and electrical panels that we manufacture. He was definitely impressed with the cleanliness, the attention to detail, and the organization of our electrical wiring harness and cockpit panel manufacturing processes.
One of the rewarding things I like about InterConnect and the electrical systems we manufacture is the fact that we have an impact on many people’s lives. It’s always a lot of fun explaining what I do to friends, family, strangers, and anyone I meet – because you know I’ve never met a stranger! I enjoy talking and meeting with new people all the time. So when someone asks me, “What do you do?” I tell them that I sell expensive extension cords that help F-16s, F-15s, C-130s, V-22s and UH-60s to fly!
