PRESS RELEASE: InterConnect Wiring Achieves Spot Welding Approval by Lockheed Martin

InterConnect Wiring is pleased to announce that we were qualIfied and approved to Lockheed Martin’s Resistance Welding Process and added to Lockheed Martin QCS-001.  Spot welding is where two or more overlapping metal sheets are joined together at discrete points (spots) using short bursts of high current fo a Medium Frequency Direct Current (MFDC) spot welder or using a series of rapid high current pulses for an Alternating Current (AC) spot welder.

There are very few companies approved to Lockheed Martin’s QCS-001 for Resistance Welding. Becoming approved for Lockheed Martin spot welding was a long and tedious process requiring extensive audits and oversight by Lockheed Martin. Because there are so few with this Lockheed Martin approval for spot welding, we are in the process of adding a second resistance welder to our production line capabilities.

If you need sheet metal parts for commercial or defense aircraft that require spot welding, go to: Contact Us – InterConnect Wiring (interconnect-wiring.com).

Our License

We are the sole licensee of Lockheed Martin for F-16 electrical products. Through this agreement, we have access to Lockheed Martin’s F-16 engineering data, tooling and configuration control information. We also have a Technical Services agreement with Sikorsky for all of their aircraft. This agreement allows us to obtain their engineering data needed to rewire helicopters that Sikorsky manufactures.
