FALCON FOCUS – MELISSA LOVE

You might already know Melissa, but just haven’t seen her face before. That is because InterConnect’s receptionist is most recognizable by the sound of her voice. Melissa Love is often the first person to greet and meet our customers and employees. That responsibility is why she is this month’s Falcon Focus.
Could you tell me a bit about your role?
I am the receptionist and help with Data Entry from time to time. I make sure to greet our guests and make them feel welcome. I make PowerPoint slides with welcoming messages for our guests, and it makes them feel good to be acknowledged. It’s the little things that count.
How does your role connect you to customers?
I find that anytime I call anywhere now I must go through some kind of recording. You can’t ever get a real-life person. It can be frustrating. So instead at InterConnect we have me to answer the phone, greet people and direct them to their point of contact. Not an automation.
What drew you towards working in Aerospace?
My Dad. When we were growing up my Dad had a telescope. We would always look at the stars and space & I find it so fascinating. I also live close by, so when I saw the job online that InterConnect was hiring, I applied. When I walked in for my interview, I was very excited to see all the model airplanes, and the slides on the TV screen. I just instantly felt a connection.
Why are you proud to work at InterConnect?
I am proud that I get to be part of a great team. It’s also exciting that I get to learn so many different, new things every day. The girls (from Data Entry) have taught me how to contribute with parts lists and routing lists. Each program has its differences.
Melissa was born and raised in Winters, TX. She attended Angelo State University. She has two daughters and three grandchildren. In her spare time Melissa enjoys spending time with her grandkids, tennis, pickleball, swimming, and boating.
