FALCON FOCUS – KRISTIN BOYD

Every great team needs an amazing leader. For InterConnect Wiring the leader of our great Sales and Data Entry Teams is Kristin Boyd. I talked with our Sales Manager recently to learn more about what she does to help her team succeed!
Could you tell me a bit about your role?
My role is to manage the Sales team and Data Entry team. Our Sales team puts proposals together for customers, answers any questions they may have, and works with them from the bid all the way through to providing the part. Our Data Entry team plays an integral part of the whole process. They enter all the data from our customers into our system, sometimes including the routing list, the parts list, or other information. They are a good, strong support for the Sales team.
How does your role connect you to customers?
My role connects to our customers because my team is one-on-one with our customer. Everything that needs to be communicated to the customer is communicated through either myself or one of our contract administrators. It takes a whole company to work on projects, but ultimately, the contract administrators are the voice to the customer.
How does your role connect you with co-workers?
In my opinion, my connection to my co-workers is 90% of my role. We must have a tight group to succeed, and I’m real proud of the group we have because we work very well together. No one thinks they’re better than anyone else. We all just have a different role. My role is to bring on new, good candidates for the positions and eliminate all the obstacles for Sales and Data Entry as much as I can, so they can do their job. If we’re not all working together, then everything fails.
Why are you proud to work at InterConnect?
Something I’m proud of is the people that I work with. I know that they have my back, and they know that I’ve got their back. If I’m out sick or if anyone of them is out sick, we do our best to take care of each other and our customers. If they know I’m in a lot of meetings during the day, one of the team members will jump in and respond to emails that are directed to me if they feel they can help.
What did you do before work at InterConnect?
Before InterConnect I worked in the security industry. I’ve worked for some large companies like ADT. I was most often in the sales or sales management position. The companies sold, electronic video surveillance, access control, fire alarms, and intrusion systems. I decided about three and a half years ago that I wanted a new challenge, something new. So, I applied to InterConnect.
Kristin attended the University of Texas at Arlington where she completed her Bachelor’s in Business Administration. She is married and has three children. She is originally from Michigan and moved to the DFW area after high school. In her spare time, she enjoys attending concerts, being outdoors, and refurbishing furniture pieces.
