Today InterConnect Wiring had the pleasure of being a Bronze Sponsor for Lockheed Martin’s local charity SHPE scholarship golf tournament benefitting STEM. InterConnect Wiring, Lockheed Martin, and The Society of Hispanic Engineers (SHPE), whole heartedly support our youth entering into the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). This is Lockheed’s 6th annual golf tournament to raise money for scholarships. All proceeds go toward scholarships for SHPE juniors and graduating high school seniors in Tarrant County who plan to pursue a STEM degree enrolled in an accredited university this August. Helping the community is one of InterConnect’s greatest joys and we are so happy to get to work with our customer Lockheed Martin!
Since 2011, Lockheed Martin has awarded over $30,000 dollars to over 20 students. Their goal this year is to raise $10,000 for at least 4 scholarships. The golf tournament was today, Friday, May 5, 2017, at The Resort Golf Club on Eagle-Mountain Lake. In fact, Team InterConnect Wiring, consisting of Clare McGarrey (InterConnect VP), Nick McGarrey (SIS Promotionals’ Owner), and James Narey (Lockheed Martin Engineering, Electrical) won FIRST PLACE in the tournament!
