VLOG: How To Braid An F-16 Wiring Harness

Hello! My name is Steve Floyd, Shop Foreman at InterConnect Wiring. Today we’re going to be talking about how to braid an F-16 wiring harness.

Wiring Harnesses – Aircraft Rewiring – Cockpit Panels – Console Wiring

Here is where a wiring harness comes to be braided. We have multiple bobbin carriers we use here at InterConnect Wiring. The larger the harness, the more carriers it requires for braid. For a non-flight control harness, only a single white tracer thread will be used to braid the harness. A double white tracer thread is used for flight control harnesses. We here at InterConnect Wiring have the capability to perform multiple types of machine braid.

Whether it be green Nomex braid on an F-16 fighter jet harness or Peek nylon braid on a Rolls-Royce helicopter engine harness, we got your harnesses covered.

Here is a completed example once a wiring harness is finished with braid.

Connections Matter

Our License

We are the sole licensee of Lockheed Martin for F-16 electrical products. Through this agreement, we have access to Lockheed Martin’s F-16 engineering data, tooling and configuration control information. We also have a Technical Services agreement with Sikorsky for all of their aircraft. This agreement allows us to obtain their engineering data needed to rewire helicopters that Sikorsky manufactures.
