As is tradition, InterConnect helped to sponsor this year’s SHPE Scholarship Golf Tournament, a local charity hosted by Lockheed Martin that benefits research in STEM. InterConnect is proud to have teamed up with Lockheed Martin and The Society of Hispanic Engineers (SHPE) to support the youth today entering the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). All proceeds raised from the tournament went toward scholarships for SHPE juniors and graduating high school seniors in Tarrant County who plan to pursue a STEM degree and are enrolled in an accredited University this August.
Our InterConnect team didn’t do too shabby this year, and we went home with 4th place! Shoutout to our awesome team: John Ashur (President), Clare McGarrey (Vice President), Nick McGarrey (President / SIS Promotionals), and Greg Byrnes (Director / Lockheed Martin). We had a LOT of fun!
Since 2011, Lockheed Martin has awarded over $30,000 to over 20 local students. The 8th Annual Golf Tournament took place on Friday, May 31st at The Resort Golf Club on Eagle Mountain Lake.
