InterConnect Wiring joined with Fit Worth and Mayor Betsy Price on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 2:30 pm for a fitness walk.
There was a big turnout of InterConnect employees to support the fitness initiative. The Fit Worth Initiative is to help promote physical activity at the workplace during breaks. The walk was a great success with lots of encouragement and joy during the walk even in the midst of a hot Fort Worth summer afternoon. InterConnect is a great supporter of Fort Worth and a healthy lifestyle!
Fit Worth Initiative – “We face a crisis. Over 50 percent of Fort Worth Independent School District children are overweight.We are raising a generation with a lower life expectancy in a City built with a sense of community and with the available tools to make change. We ask you to be part of a powerful movement, have fun, and try something new. Join Mayor Betsy Price in a campaign for your family, friends and neighbors to commit to better nutrition and physical activity. Get involved in outdoor events, food revolutions, and team competitions that will help you learn and change. Get introduced to a new way of living in Fort Worth.
Fit Worth, a Healthy City Initiative, is a family-focused movement centered around making healthier choices. The idea is to rally employers, schools, hospitals, government officials, faith communities, non-profits and retailers around local activities to halt the upward trend of obesity in our community.”
