Well it’s that time of year again to reflect on the past year and what we are thankful for. I am excited about the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and everything that it holds. Yes, it will mean hosting a huge turkey dinner at my house (thank God my husband is the cook!) but it will also mean going around the table telling the family what you are most thankful for. That is my all-time favorite thing at Thanksgiving – everyone sharing why they are thankful this year. So, since this is on my mind, I thought I would share some of the things that InterConnect Wiring is thankful for.
First, InterConnect is thankful for our employees. The women and men who assemble the electrical wiring harnesses, the circuit breaker panels, and the matrix assemblies are top-notch. If you have never seen a wiring harness being made, come by for a visit. It starts with marking wire using one of our Capris 100 Laser Wire Marking Machines. Spools of wire are placed onto our 16-Station De-Reeler and the wire rapidly flows through the machine leaving a permanent mark that neither deters the wire (like hot stamp machines can) nor wipes off (like ink jets can.) After laser marking, the assembler lays-out the wire, terminates the ends, plugs the connectors then prepares the harnesses for braid. Customers like Lockheed Martin for the F-16 and Boeing for the F-15 require nomex braid. Nomex is a cloth braid that covers the wires of the harness for protection and looks aesthetically pleasing. After braiding, our expert testing team performs continuity and insulation resistance tests using one of our many DITMCO testing machines. In fact, InterConnect’s testing team designs all test programs for all aircraft we support including the UH-60, the CH-148, the B-52, the B-2, and C-130, among others. After assembly and test, our unfailing inspectors and quality team make sure that all aircraft electrical wiring products are superior and ready to go to the customer, such as BAE, Bell Helicopter, and L-3, to name a few. And speaking of customers, that takes me to the next thing that InterConnect Wiring is thankful for….
Second, InterConnect is thankful for our customers. Since 1993 we have made a conscious effort to treat our customers the way we want to be treated, always be honest and forthright, and provide the best customer service possible. We may not be the cheapest supplier, but we are the authentic premium choice. Customers I would like to recognize and thank for their business and terrific teaming relationships with my company include L-3, Sikorsky, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, BAE, Bell Helicopter, SES, Apache Enterprises, Wyle, Aero Precision, Blue Aerospace, ACT, and IOMAX.
Third, InterConnect is thankful for the end users. It is a real honor that the end users of our electrical wiring products that we have supported over the past 20+ years are predominantly military aerospace branches including the United States Air Force (for the F-16, F-15, C-130, C-5, F-35), the US Coast Guard (the MH-60), the US Army (UH-60, ARH), and the US Marines (V-22). Additionally, it is with great pleasure that we have supported the USA’s international partners with aircraft wiring, cockpit and circuit breaker panels, and even complete aircraft rewire including but not limited to: The Portuguese Air Force, the Royal Netherlands Air Force, the Korean Air Force, and air force and army customers in Chile, Jordan, the UAE, Pakistan, Singapore, Great Britain, Indonesia, Taiwan, Israel, and Thailand.
I invite you to contemplate the reasons you are thankful not only in your personal life but in your professional life as well. What really matters in life… I mean REALLY matters, is that God has blessed us with loving family and friends, great jobs, and the best country in which to live – the United States of America. I can’t wait to mention all of these things just after we say grace and just before my brother (the president of InterConnect Wiring) says, “Please pass the turkey and dressing.”
